What is Drivewise?
Allstate created Drivewise to help drivers who exhibit certain safe driving behaviours to save money on insurance, to help save lives and reduce losses on our roads.
Through the use of a telematics device, the Drivewise program promotes safe driving awareness. It’s designed to reward safe driving behaviour by recording when and how many kilometers are driven as well as how safely the vehicle is operated.
Who can enroll in Drivewise?
You are eligible to enroll in the Drivewise program if you are insured with Allstate and own a 1998 or later model vehicle.
Is there a cost to sign up for Drivewise?
The entire Drivewise program, including the device is completely free! Once you enroll in the program, you will receive a enrolment discount**.
How do I enroll in Drivewise?
You can enroll in the Drivewise program with an Allstate agent, or by calling 1-844-679-2650.
What if I’m not sure that the Drivewise program is for me?
You can download our free Test Drivewise app from iTunes (iOS version) or Google Play (Android version) to your smartphone and self-monitor your next 5 trips in your vehicle. This will give you details about your driving record and projected discount range. Customers who download the Test Drivewise app are then eligible for an additional 5%** enrolment discount when they enroll in the Drivewise program.
What happens after I enroll?
Once you register for Drivewise, you will receive a Welcome e-mail along with a link to confirm your participation in the program and sign the Drivewise Customer Agreement Endorsement. You will need to read and accept (sign) the Customer Agreement within 30 days of receiving the Welcome e-mail or you will be automatically un-enrolled from the program. After the Customer Agreement is complete, the device will be shipped out and the enrolment discount will be applied.
In order to retain your enrolment discount, we recommend that you install your device immediately. You will have 30 days to install your device after you receive it from us. If the device is not installed within 14 days, we will send you an e-mail reminder. After 30 days, you will be un-enrolled from the program.
You will not be able to re-enroll in the program until your next renewal period. At which time, you will be required to go through the registration process again.
Can I cancel my enrolment at any time?
You can cancel your participation in the Drivewise program at any time. Simply call 1-844-679-2650.
What happens when my enrolment is cancelled?
We will issue you a letter to confirm you are no longer enrolled in the program; which updates your policy information and removes the enrolment or Drivewise discount. A revised policy will be provided, to confirm any change in premium. You can then choose to recycle the Drivewise device yourself, or drop it off at the nearest Allstate agency.
Are there any additional Drivewise program requirements?
- Yes. There are a few additional programs requirements:
- You must read and accept (sign) the Customer Agreement.
- Vehicle must maintain road coverage (liability) on the enrolled vehicle(s) at all times.
- The device must be installed within 30 days of receipt.
- The device must be installed in a drive-able vehicle with a working battery connection.
Can I have Drivewise with my 6 month policy?
No. Drivewise is not available for policies with a 6 month term.
