Allstate 2019 International Trip Contest Rules
(the “Contest Rules”)

General

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

2. This Contest is being conducted by Allstate Insurance Company of Canada (the “Sponsor”).

3. The Allstate 2019 International Trip Contest (the “Contest”) will begin on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (“Contest Starting Date”) and will end on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (the “Contest Closing Date”).

4. Before entering the Contest, each entrant (as defined below) must review and agree to be bound by the Contest Rules as set out herein. By entering the Contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by the Contest Rules, and accept the decisions of the Sponsor in connection with this Contest as final and binding in all respects.

Eligibility

5. The Contest is open to legal residents of Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick who are eighteen years of age or older in their province of residence as of the Contest Starting Date and who are able to travel internationally during dates and times in 2019 to be announced by the Sponsor (each an “entrant”). Employees, representatives, agents, shareholders, officers, and directors (including their immediate family members and those with whom such persons are domiciled) of the Sponsor, the Canadian Soccer Association (“CSA”), and each of their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, prize suppliers, advertising and promotional agencies and any other entity involved in the development, production, administration, or fulfilment of the Contest are not eligible to enter this Contest.  For purposes of this Contest, “immediate family members” shall include the mother, father, brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, partner or spouse of an individual (regardless of where any such “immediate family member” resides).  Determination of Contest eligibility shall be made in the sole discretion of the Sponsor and shall be final and binding.

6. By entering the Contest, the entrant consents, to the extent permitted by law, to the use of his or her name, image, voice, likeness, city of residence, and/or photograph without compensation or notice in any publicity or advertising carried out in any medium worldwide by the Sponsor and/or its advertising or promotional agencies without limitation or further notification.

How to Enter

7. The Contest can be entered as follows:

a. Paper Ballot: Complete a paper ballot where there is an Allstate booth set-up at any of the 2019 Active Start Soccer Fest events held in Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

All information required to complete the process must be provided at the Allstate booth. Information required for the  paper ballot process includes confirmation of age of majority, first name, last name, postal code, email address (optional), and phone number.

b. Mail-In Ballot: Send a standard letter-sized sheet of paper with your information and referencing the Contest to the attention of Rob Nadler, Allstate Insurance Company of Canada, 100 – 27 Allstate Parkway, Markham, Ontario, L3R 5P8 via regular mail. The information required includes confirmation of age of majority, first name, last name, postal code, email address (optional), and phone number.

8. You may enter the Contest only once. Multiple entries by the same person or from the same email address or from the same person from different email addresses   shall result in disqualification.

9. All entries must be received by the Contest Closing Date in order to be eligible for the Contest.

10. Entries that do not conform to or satisfy any condition of these Contest Rules shall be disqualified.

11. The Sponsor is not responsible for any lost, late, delayed, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, damaged, altered, or destroyed entries.

12. All entries become the sole property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.

Grand Prize

13. Grand Prize: One (1) selected entrant will be awarded the Grand Prize (the “Winner”) consisting of:

a. Four (4) round trip economy air travel tickets departing from the international airport nearest to the Winner’s place of residence in Canada (“Departure City”) to an international location where the Canadian National Team will be playing (the “Destination City”);

b. Double occupancy accommodation for four (4) nights at a hotel in the Destination City;

c. Four (4) game entry tickets to the Canadian National Team match in the Destination City;

d. Round trip ground transportation for four (4) between the hotel and location where the match is held in the Destination City on game day;

e. A Visa pre-paid card in the amount of two hundred and fifty Canadian dollars ($250 CAD).

14. The Grand Prize has an approximate total value of $10,000 CAD. Actual value may vary slightly depending on the Departure City and Destination City. Neither the Winner nor any guest accompanying the Winner (each a “traveller”) shall be entitled to the monetary difference between the actual value and the approximate value, if any.

Details and Restrictions

15. The Winner must participate as a traveller.

16. Each traveller must be of the age of majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian of a traveller who is under the age of majority will be considered as another traveller joining the Winner.

17. Each traveller must sign and return (or in the case of a minor have his/her parent or legal guardian sign and return on his/her behalf) a release of liability and consent to publicity form prior to issuance of travel documents and participation in any Grand Prize activity.

18. The Winner and all travellers must travel together on the same itinerary and are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary travel documents prior to travel.

19. The Winner and/or any traveller(s) may be required to present a valid major credit card to hotel upon check-in.

20. If the Winner elects to travel with fewer than three (3) other travellers, no prize adjustment or additional compensation will be awarded under any circumstances.

21. Air travel tickets are subject to certain terms and conditions as specified by the airline carrier selected by the Sponsor. Documentation that is reasonably necessary for the Sponsor to book air travel tickets for the travellers (i.e. passport information) must be supplied to the Sponsor or its representatives or agents upon request. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of the Grand Prize in the absolute discretion of the Sponsor.

22. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any air travel.  The Releasees (defined below) shall have no responsibility for trip cancellations, alterations, weather delays, weather cancellations or other changes to the trip itinerary and are not responsible for any additional costs or expenses that may be incurred by any traveller as a result of such changes in itinerary.

23. The Releasees (defined below) are not responsible in the event any traveller is denied the ability to fly out of or into any particular airport, whether due to airport restrictions or otherwise, nor are they responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or any other changes made by any transportation and/or travel companies, hotels, air carriers, or others providing or arranging any travel or Grand Prize-related services or accommodations, including, without limitation, any resulting changes in services or accommodations. Once reservations are made, they cannot be changed, save as otherwise determined in the absolute discretion of the Sponsor.

24. The Sponsor has the right to disqualify and/or remove any traveller from any activity at any time if such individual is at any point disruptive, abusive, or unobservant of applicable rules, laws or regulations, or if such individual is likely to cause or has caused damage to person, property, or the reputation of the Sponsor, as determined in the absolute discretion of the Sponsor.

25. The Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent or greater value, including cash equivalent to the advertised retail value, in the event of the unavailability of the advertised Grand Prize. The Grand Prize may not be transferred, assigned, or redeemed for cash. Sponsor’s rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the promotion and the awarding of the Grand Prize.

26. The Winner assumes responsibility and costs for any incidental expenses, passports, visas, travel insurance, airport fees, baggage fees, security fees, permits, and/or duties required for him or herself and for all travellers. For clarity, the Winner is responsible for all incidental expenses ensuing from the acceptance of the Grand Prize. The Winner accepts and understands that he or she may use the awarded Visa pre-paid card for these expenses at his or her discretion and that the Sponsor shall not reimburse or compensate any incidental expenses.

Draw

27. A random drawing to award the Grand Prize will be held at approximately 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on October 7, 2019 by the Sponsor at its corporate head office located at 27 Allstate Parkway, Markham, Ontario, L3R 5P8.

28. The selected entrant will be contacted by telephone within forty-eight (48) hours of the draw. If the Winner declines the Grand Prize or cannot be contacted by telephone within seven (7) business days of the draw date his/her entry will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected until such time as contact is made by telephone with the selected entrant or there are no more entries.

29. Neither Sponsor nor its affiliates will be responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of selected entrants not being able to receive notification or for the selected entrants not being able to respond as prescribed above.

30. Upon notification, the selected entrant must, unaided, correctly answer a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question. In the event that the selected entrant is unable to answer the skill-testing question correctly, the Sponsor shall disqualify said entrant and randomly draw another eligible entry, and the Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.

31. If the selected entrant declines the Grand Prize, is not eligible, or does not otherwise meet the requirements as set out in the Contest Rules, the Sponsor shall have the right to disqualify said entrant and randomly draw another eligible entry for purposes of awarding the Grand Prize, and the Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharge from any liability or responsibility in this regard.

General Conditions

32. To accept the Grand Prize, the selected entrant agrees to sign and return or provide the following to the Sponsor within seven (7) days of notification of the Grand Prize:

(a) A form affirming eligibility and compliance with all Contest Rules and affirming his/her ability to travel on the dates and at the times specified by the Sponsor.

(b) A liability release form releasing the Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, administrators, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Releasees”) from and against any and all claims and liability arising from or relating to, whether directly or indirectly, the acceptance, receipt, possession, use, or misuse of the awarded Grand Prize, participation in the Contest and any Contest or Grand Prize-related activity, or any breach of the Contest Rules,.

(c) A publicity release form permitting the Releasees to use his or her name, image, voice, likeness, city of residence, and/or photograph in any publicity or advertising carried out in any medium worldwide by the Sponsor and/or its advertising or promotional agencies without limitation or further compensation or notification, unless prohibited by law.

(d) If requested/required by the Sponsor, a copy of valid documentation reflecting the selected entrant’s ability to travel.

33. The selected entrant also agrees to ensure that each of his or her travellers sign and return and provide the following to the Sponsor within seven (7) days of the  selected entrant being notified of the Grand Prize:

(a) A form affirming the traveller’s ability to travel on the dates and at the times specified by the Sponsor.

(b) A liability release form releasing the Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, administrators, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Releasees”) from and against any and all claims and liability arising from or relating to, whether directly or indirectly, the acceptance, receipt, possession, use, or misuse of the awarded Grand Prize, participation in the Contest and any Contest or Grand Prize-related activity, or any breach of the Contest Rules. If the traveller is a minor, the release must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

(c) A publicity release form permitting the Releasee to use his or her name, image, voice, likeness, city of residence, and/or photograph in any publicity or advertising carried out in any medium worldwide by the Sponsor and/or its advertising or promotional agencies without limitation or further compensation or notification, unless prohibited by law. If the traveller is a minor, the release must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

(d) If requested/required by the Sponsor, a copy of valid documentation reflecting the traveller’s ability to travel.

34. If the Winner and/or his/her traveller(s) fail to submit the documentation and information specified above at paragraphs 32 and 33 within the given time period, the Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify said entrant and randomly draw another eligible entry for the purpose of awarding the Grand Prize (time permitting), and the Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.

35. Chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The Sponsor is unaware of how many eligible entries will be received.

36. The Sponsor shall not be liable for any human or technical errors that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of the entries.

37. The Sponsor is not responsible for any failure of an entry to be received by the Sponsor as a result of technical problems or human error.

38. The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with or attempts to tamper with the entry process. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

39. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.

40. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate or suspend the Contest, or modify the Contest Rules at any time for any reason or should fraud or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor corrupt the administration, security, or odds of winning, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux in respect of residents of Quebec.

41. Residents of Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick: By entering this Contest, each entrant agrees that the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada shall have jurisdiction to entertain any action or other legal proceedings based on any provision of these Contest Rules or the running of this Contest. Each of the aforesaid entrants hereby irrevocably attorns to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.

42. Quebec Residents: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purposes of helping the parties reach a settlement.

43. THE SPONSOR IS COLLECTING, HOLDING AND USING PERSONAL INFORMATION PROVIDED BY ENTRANTS FOR THE PURPOSES OF ADMINISTERING THIS CONTEST; AWARDING AND DELIVERING THE GRAND PRIZE AND ANNOUNCING THE WINNER AS SET OUT ABOVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALLSTATE INSURANCE COMPANY OF CANADA’S PRIVACY POLICY AT https://www.allstate.ca/webpages/custcare/privacy-matters.aspx?lang=en.  NO FURTHER MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED BY ENTRANTS UNLESS ENTRANTS PROVIDE THE SPONSOR WITH EXPRESS PERMISSION TO DO SO.
