Allstate 2017 Win a Trip Contest

Official Rules

General

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

2. This Contest is being conducted by Allstate Insurance Company of Canada (the “Sponsor”).

3. The Allstate 2017 Win a Trip Contest (the “Contest”) will begin on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 9:00 AM Eastern Time (“Contest Starting Date”) and will end on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time (the “Contest Closing Date”).

4. Before entering the Contest, each entrant must review and agree to be bound by the Contest Rules as set out herein. By entering the Contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by the Contest Rules, and accept the decisions of the Sponsor in connection with this Contest as final and binding in all respects.

Eligibility

5. The Contest is open to residents of Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick who are of the age of majority in their province of residence as of the Contest Starting Date and are able to travel within Canada during the dates and at the times specified by the Sponsor. Employees, representatives, agents, shareholders, officers, and directors of the Sponsor, its advertising and promotional agencies, the Canadian Soccer Association (“CSA”) and those with whom any of the above reside are not eligible to enter this Contest.

6. By entering the Contest, the winner consents, to the extent permitted by law, to the use of his or her name, image, voice, likeness, city of residence, and/or photograph without compensation or notice in any publicity or advertising carried out in any medium worldwide by the Sponsor and/or its advertising or promotional agencies without limitation or further notification.

How to Enter

7. Enter by completing a paper ballot at a 2017 Active Start Soccer Fest event, at the Canada Men’s National Team game scheduled to be held on September 2nd, 2017 at BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario; or by sending your information to Allstate via regular mail. Entry details for these methods are as follows:

a. Paper Ballot: Complete a paper ballot where there is an Allstate booth set-up at the following events: (i) the 2017 Active Start Soccer Fest events in Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, or (ii) at the Canada Men’s National Team game. All information required to complete the paper ballot process must be provided at the Allstate booth. b. Mail-In Ballot: Send a piece of paper with your information to Deanna Martan, Allstate Insurance Company of Canada, 100 – 27 Allstate Parkway, Markham, Ontario, L3R 5P8. All information required must be provided on the piece of paper sent via regular mail service with full postage paid by the entrant. Information required for the paper ballot process includes first name, last name, address, city, postal code, date of birth, email address, phone number.

8. You may enter the Contest only once. Multiple entries by the same person or from the same email address or from the same person from different email addresses in shall result in disqualification.

9. All entries must be received by the Contest Closing Date in order to be eligible for the Contest.

10. Entries that do not conform to or satisfy any condition of these Contest Rules shall be disqualified.

11. The Sponsor is not responsible for any lost, late, delayed, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, damaged, altered, or destroyed entries.

12. All entries become the sole property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.

Grand Prize

13. Grand Prize: One (1) selected entrant will be awarded the Grand Prize consisting of four (4) round trip economy air travel tickets departing from the international airport nearest the selected entrant’s place of residence in Canada to Vancouver, British Columbia (departure and destination airports, carrier and airline ticket class to be chosen by the Sponsor in its sole discretion) and double occupancy accommodation for four (4) travellers (the winner and three (3) guests) for four (4) nights in Vancouver, British Columbia, four (4) game entry tickets to the Canadian Women’s National Team International Friendly match currently scheduled to be held at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia on November 9, 2017 (approximate retail value of $50 CAD per ticket), return local transportation from the selected accommodation to BC Place Stadium and a $250 CAD Visa pre-paid card.

14. The Grand Prize has an approximate value of $6,000 CAD based upon a Toronto, Ontario departure example.  Actual value will vary depending on the departure city. Neither the winner nor any guest will be entitled to the monetary difference between the actual Grand Prize value and the stated approximate value, if any.  In the event that the International Friendly match is cancelled or postponed, no substitution of this portion of the Grand Prize will necessarily be made. 

Details and Restrictions

15. Selected entrant must participate as a traveller.

16. Each traveller must be of age of legal majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and must sign and return (or in the case of a minor have his/her parent or legal guardian sign and return on his/her behalf) a release of liability and consent to publicity form prior to issuance of travel documents and participation in any Grand Prize activity. 

17. Travellers must travel together on the same itinerary and are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary travel documents prior to travel.

18. Traveller(s) may be required to present a valid major credit card to hotel upon check-in. 

19. If a selected entrant elects to travel with less than three (3) other travellers, no additional compensation will be awarded under any circumstances.

20. Air travel tickets are subject to certain terms and conditions as specified by chosen airline carrier.  Documentation that is reasonably necessary for the Sponsor to book air travel tickets for the travellers (i.e. passport information) must be supplied to the Sponsor or its representatives or agents upon request. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of the Grand Prize at the absolute discretion of the Sponsor. 

21. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any air travel.  The Releasees (defined below) shall have no responsibility for trip cancellations, alterations, weather delays, weather cancellations or other changes to the trip itinerary and are not responsible for any additional costs or expenses that may be incurred by any traveller as a result of such changes in itinerary.

22. The Releasees (defined below) are not responsible in the event any traveller is denied the ability to fly out of or into any particular airport, whether due to airport restrictions or otherwise, nor are they responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or any other changes made by any transportation and/or travel companies, hotels, air carriers, or others providing or arranging any travel or Grand Prize-related services or accommodations, including, without limitation, any resulting changes in services or accommodations. Once reservations are made, they cannot be changed, save as otherwise determined in the absolute discretion of the Sponsor.

23. The Sponsor has the right, in its absolute discretion, to disqualify and/or remove any traveller from any activity at any time if such individual is at any point disruptive, abusive, or unobservant of applicable rules, laws or regulations, or if such individual is likely to cause or has caused damage to person, property, or the reputation of the Sponsor, as determined in the absolute discretion of the Sponsor.

24. The Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent or greater value, including cash equivalent to the advertised retail value, in the event of the unavailability of the advertised Grand Prize. The Grand Prize may not be transferred, assigned, or redeemed for cash. Sponsor’s rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the promotion and the awarding of the Grand Prize.

25. The selected entrant assumes responsibility and costs for any incidental expenses, passports, visas, travel insurance, airport fees, baggage fees, security fees, permits, and/or duties required for him or herself and for all travellers. For clarity, the selected entrant is responsible for all incidental expenses ensuing from the acceptance of the Grand Prize. The selected entrant accepts and understands that he or she may use the awarded Visa gift card for these expenses at his or her discretion and that the Sponsor shall not reimburse or compensate any incidental expenses.

Draw

26. A random drawing to award the Grand Prize will be held at approximately 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on September 14th, 2017 by the Sponsor at its corporate head office at 27 Allstate Parkway, Markham, Ontario, L3R 5P8.  

27. The selected entrant will be contacted by telephone within forty-eight (48) hours of the draw. If the selected entrant declines the Grand Prize or cannot be contacted by telephone within seven (7) business days of the draw date his/her entry will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected until such time as contact is made by telephone with the selected entrant or there are no more entries.

28. Neither Sponsor nor its affiliates will be responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of selected entrants not being able to receive notification or for the selected entrants not being able to respond as prescribed above.

29. Upon notification, the selected entrant must, unaided, correctly answer a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question. In the event that the selected entrant is unable to answer the skill-testing question correctly, the Sponsor shall disqualify said entrant and to randomly draw another eligible entry, and the Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.

30. If the selected entrant declines the Grand Prize, is not eligible, or does not otherwise meet the requirements as set out in the Contest Rules, the Sponsor shall have the right to disqualify said entrant and randomly draw another eligible entry for purposes of awarding the Grand Prize, and the Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharge from any liability or responsibility in this regard.

General Conditions

31. By entering the Contest, the selected entrant agrees to sign and return the following to the Sponsor within ten (10) days of notification:

(a) A form affirming eligibility and compliance with all Contest Rules and affirming his/her ability to travel on the dates and at the times specified by the Sponsor.

(b) A liability release form releasing the Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, and administrators (“Releasees”) from all liability arising from or relating to the acceptance, receipt, possession, use, or misuse of the awarded Grand Prize, participation in any Contest-related activity, or participation in this Contest.

(c) A publicity release form permitting the Releasees to use his or her name, image, voice, likeness, city of residence, and/or photograph in any publicity or advertising carried out in any medium worldwide by the Sponsor and/or its advertising or promotional agencies without limitation or further compensation or notification, unless prohibited by law.

(d) If requested/required by the Sponsor, a copy of valid documentation reflecting the selected entrant’s ability to travel.

32. By entering the Contest, the selected entrant agrees to have at least one (1) but no more than three (3) travellers sign and return the following to the Sponsor within ten (10) days of the selected entrant’s notification:

(a) A form affirming his/her ability to travel on the dates and at the times specified by the Sponsor.

(b) A liability release form releasing the Sponsor, its subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, directors, officers, suppliers, agents, and administrators (“Releasees”) from all liability arising from or relating to the acceptance, receipt, possession, use, or misuse of the awarded Grand Prize, participation in any Contest-related activity, or participation in this Contest. If the traveller is a minor, the release must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

(c) A publicity release form permitting the Releasees to use his or her name, image, voice, likeness, city of residence, and/or photograph in any publicity or advertising carried out in any medium worldwide by the Sponsor and/or its advertising or promotional agencies without limitation or further compensation or notification, unless prohibited by law. If the traveller is a minor, the release must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

(d) If requested/required by the Sponsor, a copy of valid documentation reflecting the traveller’s ability to travel.

33. If a selected entrant and/or his/her traveller(s) fails to submit the documentation and information specified above at paragraphs 31 and 32 within the given time period, the Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify said entrant and randomly draw another eligible entry for the purpose of awarding the Grand Prize (time permitting), and the Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard.

34. Chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The Sponsor is unaware of how many eligible entries will be received.

35. The Sponsor shall not be liable for any human or technical errors that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of the entries.

36. The Sponsor is not responsible for any failure of an entry to be received by the Sponsor as a result of technical problems or human error.

37. The Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with or attempts to tamper with the entry process. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

38. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.

39. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to terminate or suspend the Contest, or modify the Contest Rules at any time for any reason or should fraud or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor corrupt the administration, security, or odds of winning.

40. By entering this Contest, each entrant agrees that the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada shall have jurisdiction to entertain any action or other legal proceedings based on any provision of these Contest Rules or the running of this Contest. Each of the aforesaid entrants hereby irrevocably attorns to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.

41. THE SPONSOR IS COLLECTING, HOLDING AND USING PERSONAL INFORMATION PROVIDED BY ENTRANTS FOR THE PURPOSES OF ADMINISTERING THIS CONTEST; AWARDING AND DELIVERING THE GRAND PRIZE AND ANNOUNCING THE WINNER AS SET OUT ABOVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALLSTATE INSURANCE COMPANY OF CANADA’S PRIVACY POLICY AT http://www.allstate.ca/webpages/custcare/privacy-matters.aspx.  NO FURTHER MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED BY ENTRANTS UNLESS ENTRANTS PROVIDE THE SPONSOR WITH EXPLICIT PERMISSION TO DO SO.
