Markham, June 2, 2016 - Effective April 11, 2016, Twiggy Lemercier was appointed to the position of vice president, data analytics and chief risk officer (CRO) of Allstate Insurance Company of Canada and subsidiary companies. Lemercier was promoted to the position after the CRO role was left vacant following the promotion of Ryan Michel, to president and CEO.
In the role, Lemercier will continue to be accountable for the company’s analytics strategy, as well as managing and monitoring reserves. This includes data management, predictive analytics and reporting capabilities. In her new position as chief risk officer, she will be accountable for corporate risk management, which includes both operational risk management and economic risk assessment.
“Twiggy has a keen understanding of the critical nature of data and how it can be harnessed to transform our business, and help us better serve our customers,” says Ryan Michel, president and CEO of Allstate Insurance Company of Canada. “I personally have worked closely with her for the past five years and have watched her grow in roles of increasing responsibility. This promotion is very well deserved.”
Lemercier originally joined Allstate Canada in 2007 as director, reserving and reinsurance and was promoted to the role of assistant vice president, business strategy and transformation in 2013. Prior to joining Allstate, she held a variety of actuarial roles at Aviva Canada, The Dominion and the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Lemercier is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA). She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia University in Montreal (Specialization Actuarial Mathematics). She is fluent in Spanish and French.
