MARKHAM, Ontario, Dec 2, 2021 – Allstate Insurance Company of Canada, Pembridge Insurance Company, Pafco Insurance Company and Ivantage Insurance Brokers Inc. (collectively, “ACG”) announced more than $1 million has been donated to charitable organizations across Canada in 2021. The funds were raised in campaigns encouraging employees to donate to causes important to them with matching contributions from ACG, and the Top Tier Goodness Grant where broker partners had an opportunity to select charities to receive financial support. The announcement came just days after Canadians celebrated GivingTuesday, a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year near the end of November.
“Our social and community impact strategy is built on two main pillars: investing in our community through grants and in-kind contributions, and empowering employees to get involved by giving back,” says Ryan Michel, President and CEO of Allstate Insurance Company of Canada. “We’re proud to be able to provide our employees with the resources to volunteer and donate to causes that mean the most to them.”
ACG recently concluded its Month of Goodness campaign in November, the company’s biggest employee giving initiative of the year. The company encouraged employees to give with a “Sign-in to Win” lottery kick off, topped up donations made by employees, and rewarded virtual volunteering with funds to donate.
ACG’s community investment efforts focus on supporting organizations and initiatives that foster an environment of inclusion, involvement and empowerment for those who experience barriers to participation – whether it be within their community, career or personal life.
ACG prioritizes causes and projects that work to create a more inclusive world for people with disabilities and those experiencing financial hardship. This includes support for organizations that address affordable housing, such as Habitat for Humanity; individuals impacted by homelessness like The Shoebox Project for Women and Old Brewery Mission; inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities, such as Inclusion Canada (formerly the Canadian Association for Community Living); food insecurities; COVID-19 recovery and relief and many more.
