Hanmer, Ontario has been identified as the safest community of the decade in this year’s Safe Driving Study, claiming the top spot with an average collision frequency rate of 3.8 per cent. To celebrate the community’s continued attention to safe driving, Allstate Canada will visit the residents of Hanmer to hand out winter driving essentials to households as we head into the winter season.

Nine-out-of-ten drivers may be too distracted to drive safely, according to Allstate Canada Study
According to a new Léger poll conducted on behalf of Allstate Insurance Company of Canada, 91 per cent of drivers surveyed engage in risky behaviour while driving, with precisely half of those (50 per cent) confessing to talking on the phone via a multimedia hands-free function. However, only a fifth (22 per cent) actually admit or recognize that they are distracted drivers.

Allstate Canada Poll: Is FOMO Driving Distraction Behind the Wheel?
A new poll from Allstate Insurance Company of Canada reveals 80 per cent of Canadians believe drivers under the age of 34 are most likely to drive distracted. The study, conducted by Leger, also found that Canadians from that younger cohort recognize their own tendency to drive distracted, with 69 per cent conceding that their age group is probably the most likely to do so.
