What we can do for you

Climate Loss Mitigation Solution is now included under Coverage D (Additional Living Expenses). This coverage will provide reimbursement of up to $2,500 for expenses incurred by you for measures taken to reduce the impact of a climate related loss to your home and property when an emergency evacuation alert or directive has been issued by order of a civil authority. Examples of such measures are sandbagging, storage for valuable items, using waterproof tape on doors & windows, etc.

How to protect you and your family from weather events:

Water damage frequently asked questions (for Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Alberta residents)

The enhanced water damage coverage is the latest evolution of Allstate’s sewer backup coverage currently offered to our customers for purchase. It’s the most comprehensive level of water protection that Allstate offers which provides coverage for sewer backup, groundwater and overland water all in one endorsement.

It covers damage to your home due to water that accumulates upon or on submerged land which is usually dry. This includes:

• Unusual and rapid accumulation of rain or runoff water not caused by escape of water from a domestic water container or water main.

• The rising of, breaking out, or the overflow of any body of water or watercourse, whether natural or man-made (e.g. riverine flooding).

The enhanced water damage coverage also covers sewer backup damage resulting from overland water where there is evidence that overland water entered the dwelling or detached private structure where the loss occurred.

What’s unique about Allstate’s coverage is that it provides homeowners, condominium owners, and rental property tenants, better protection for service lines. Allstate doesn’t just cover the repair or replacement of water and sewer lines as other companies do. We cover expenses (up to $10,000) related to the repair or replacement of damaged service lines. This includes water, sewer, gas, electricity, cable and phone lines.

In the event of sewer backup, the coverage also offers up to $1,000 towards the cost to purchase and install a certified back flow valve and/or sump pump with backup power.
