(Toronto) December 1, 2025 – A new survey of sales professionals in Ontario and Quebec reveals a workforce that is largely satisfied with their current roles but highly motivated by opportunities for greater earning potential and career growth. Allstate Insurance Company of Canada (“Allstate Canada”) commissioned the survey to better understand the career priorities of experienced sales professionals in two of Canada’s most populated provinces.

According to the survey, 81% of respondents would consider switching industries if a new role offered better compensation, underscoring the importance of competitive pay in attracting experienced talent. The survey also suggests ambition remains strong, with respondents saying increasing earnings (40%), advancing into senior roles (12%), and gaining new skills or certifications (10%) rank among their top career goals for the next 12 months.

The findings also highlight evolving priorities beyond pay. Work-life balance and flexibility emerged as key factors cited by nearly half of respondents when deciding where to work, alongside compensation and benefits. These insights suggest that employers who combine strong financial incentives with a supportive culture and clear growth paths are best positioned to attract top performers.

“The results of the survey align with our approach to creating an environment for employees within our sales channel to thrive. Allstate Canada offers a unique opportunity for driven sales professionals to build a rewarding career, often right in the communities where they live,” said Odel Laing, Territory Business Leader, Allstate Canada. “Our model emphasizes competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the flexibility to balance work and life — all within a culture that values growth and community.

The survey was commissioned by Allstate Canada and conducted by Leger in November 2025 among 600 experienced sales professionals across Ontario and Quebec. Respondents included individuals with backgrounds in B2B and B2C sales, financial services, and insurance, providing insights into career satisfaction, motivators, and openness to new opportunities. Opportunities may vary by region and are subject to company policies.
